The turtle’s domed openwork shell is set with vivid turquoise cabochons across its back, creating a striking contrast against the warmth of the yellow gold. Two ruby eyes add a tiny flash of rich red to the sculptural head, while finely detailed legs, tail, and textured goldwork give the piece wonderful character from every angle.
The open lattice construction of the shell is particularly beautiful from the reverse, revealing the craftsmanship of the individual stone settings and sculptural goldwork.
