Mid-Century Pop 18K Gold-Filled Sculptural Tab Clasp – 17mm
With its sculptural oval form, clean negative space and polished gold-filled finish, this petite clasp has the graphic confidence of mid-century Pop and modernist jewelry design.
Part of our Luxe Edit, it was chosen for its playful tension between something familiar and something refined—a small functional object transformed into an unexpected piece of jewelry.
Its silhouette unmistakably recalls the pull-tab forms that became part of everyday visual culture in the 1960s and ’70s, an era when artists and designers increasingly elevated ordinary objects through bold scale, repetition and graphic form. Reimagined here in warm 18K gold-filled metal, that utilitarian reference feels witty rather than literal.
Best of all, the piece is functional as well as decorative. The clasp opens, allowing it to hold a pendant or charm, connect chains, or become a distinctive focal point in its own right.
Measuring approximately 17mm, its petite scale makes it particularly easy to incorporate into a layered jewelry collection. Mix it freely with antique and vintage pieces, add a favorite charm or pendant, or use it to give a simple chain an unexpected pop-culture edge.
That’s precisely what we love about the Luxe Edit: beautifully chosen pieces that bring another layer of character to antique and vintage jewelry while making the look entirely your own.

HISTORY & INSPIRATION
The 1960s and ’70s brought a wonderfully irreverent spirit to art, fashion and jewelry. Pop artists turned their attention to the familiar imagery and objects of everyday life, while jewelry designers increasingly experimented with bold geometry, industrial forms and unexpected sources of inspiration.
The pull tab, introduced in the 1960s and quickly becoming a ubiquitous part of consumer culture, is one of those instantly recognizable forms. Its simple combination of curves, openings and negative space became part of the visual language of the era.
This petite clasp captures something of that same spirit. Its pull-tab-like silhouette transforms an everyday graphic form into a polished piece of jewelry—playful, functional and just unexpected enough.
The Luxe Edit celebrates pieces like this: newly made jewelry selected for its distinctive point of view and its ability to mix effortlessly with genuine antique and vintage finds.

Gold-filled jewelry is designed for lasting wear, but like all jewelry, benefits from gentle care. Wipe with a soft polishing cloth as needed.
For deeper cleaning, use a small amount of warm water and mild soap with a soft-bristle toothbrush, taking particular care around the working mechanism. Dry thoroughly.
