FACTS & HISTORY: The Cornicello (Corno) begins in ancient times, during the Greek empire. Shaped like an animal horn, it is used to symbolize the Moon Goddess, Luna. It was created to protect from the Evil Eye.
According another theory, the horn-shaped amulet was used to invoke the goddess's favor and bring good luck to the wearer.
The Cornicello is also sometimes thought to have originated as a phallic symbol, representing a symbol of fertility and the power of creation.
