A vintage nephrite jade Buddha pendant with simple, stylized carving and wonderfully understated character.
Carved from deep green nephrite jade, the diminutive Buddha figure is rendered in a simple traditional style, with softly defined features and a pleasing sculptural form. Rather than elaborate carving, this piece has the straightforward, almost primitive quality that gives many older carved jade charms their distinctive appeal.
A new gold-filled bail and jump ring have been added for security and to provide additional room for wearing the pendant on a favorite chain, charm holder or necklace.
The warm gold-filled fittings provide a beautiful contrast against the deep green jade, making this an easy piece to wear alone or incorporate into a collected necklace of vintage and antique charms.
