Blue Night 5” Handwoven Catch-All Basket
A petite handwoven basket in a rich blue palette, the Blue Night Catch-All brings beautiful color, texture, and artisan craftsmanship to a collected interior.
Handwoven by women artisans in rural Uganda using traditional basketry techniques, each piece is crafted from natural raffia and banana fiber. At five inches across, its small scale makes it an easy decorative accent for a bedside table, vanity, desk, bookshelf, or entry console.
Use it as a catch-all for jewelry, keys, and other small treasures, or display it purely as an objet. A hand-stitched loop on the reverse also allows the basket to be displayed as wall art, either individually or incorporated into a collected arrangement of baskets, plates, and artwork.

Craft & Tradition
Basketry has a long tradition in Uganda, where locally available plant fibers have historically been transformed into both practical and decorative objects. Coiled baskets are traditionally created by wrapping and stitching plant fibers around an inner core, producing the distinctive texture and pattern of the finished piece.
Historically, baskets played an important role in everyday life, used for gathering and carrying crops, winnowing and sifting, and transporting goods to market. Today, these time-honored techniques continue while basketry has also evolved into an expressive decorative art form.
Because each basket is individually woven by hand, subtle variations in color, weave, shape, and dimensions are expected. These characteristics are part of the beauty and individuality of an artisan-made object rather than imperfections.
