*Please note this is one of our stronger pieces of coral but still fragile, as well as pack this item, it is impossible to expect no breakage. The average breakage you can expect during shipping ranges from about 5%. Because there is no way to avoid this we count this as an acceptable amount of breakage. We save our broken bits as treasures and add them to our shell collection. If this is unacceptable to you we advise you not to order. However if more than 5% of breakage occurs please contact us. Each piece is insured and our customers happiness is our top priority.
Coral is a fragile natural fossil which was once a living thing. They have literally been broken off a Coral Reef in the process of collecting or harvesting, every piece will have broken and or chipped areas. We liken them to people everyone of us, has flaws but that is part of what makes us unique and special. I find beauty in the imperfection knowing where the piece has come from and understanding what it took to get to me in it’s life cycle. We understand if prefer perfection, in that case a realistic piece of resin coral would be a better option for you.

ORIGIN: Indo-Pacific Ocean
HISTORY & FACTS: Authentic Mushroom Razor Bowl Coral or Fungiidae are a family of Cnidaria, commonly known as mushroom corals or plate corals are often flat or dome-shaped, and circular or slightly oval in shape, resembling the cap of a mushroom. Most mushroom shaped corals are solitary forms living unattached to any underlying substrate. They are found in Indo-Pacific waters.
There is a current shift to Aquaculture and Sustainability instead of wild harvesting. Particularly in Indonesia, the world’s largest supplier of stony corals and home to more coral reef areas than any other nation, many producers have “learned that if you collect a really beautiful, interesting coral, if you export that, you get to export it one time,” “If you keep it and farm it, you get to export it forever.”

Please note: Understanding the importance and having a strict sense of obligation regarding coral reef ecosystems and their ecology, my supplier has always closely followed both U.S. and international import & export protocol. All documentation from the country of origin and CITES permits when required are submitted to USF&W and US Customs during formal entry procedures.
